You write a resume. You email 100 copies. You get 3 responses.

If you aren't getting any interviews then chances are you have no idea who your audience is -- who you are submitting your resume to, what they are looking for and how they filter people out.

We do, because that's what we do. We are on the other side of the table from you.

 

What do you know that we don't know?

Companies hire us to find the perfect candidate to fill their jobs. What that means is that when a company posts a job, and then gets 500 resumes, they are looking for how your resume disqualifies you.

You look at a job listing, then at your resume and think, "man, I'm perfect for this gig." We look at your resume and can see what disqualifies you instantly.

But that's just to start with. For a given job, or set of skills we know and could tell you:

  • What it will take to get a job.
  • How to job search.
  • What kinds of companies to target.
  • What their ideal candidates look like -- i.e what a resume looks like for a someone they would actually hire.
  • What types of people (personalities, culture) succeed there.

What am I going to get? Why should I pay you money?

If all you are looking for is to polish your resume and get some good tips, you can read loads of free career advice and work it out for yourself, in which case you probably shouldn't pay us any money.

On the other hand, the only resume you are concerned with is yours. We see hundreds a week. We interview more people in a week than most people interview in all their job searches combined. Anyone can tell you what to do generally. We can tell you how it is for you.

You wouldn't believe how many people miss the very career experiences that make them marketable. They just aren't objective. We are. At least when it comes to you.
